Editorial & Methodology Policy

FreeToolsBox is a utility site first. Editorial content exists to help users understand what a tool measures, which inputs matter, where the formula comes from, and when an online result needs independent confirmation. We do not publish filler articles only to increase page count.
How formulas are selected
We prefer established mathematical definitions, published formulas, official government thresholds and widely used technical standards. When a calculation has more than one accepted convention, the page should identify the convention used or explain the limitation.
Time-sensitive rates and thresholds
Tax bands, contribution limits, payroll rules, lending assumptions and other policy-driven values can change. Country-specific tools are reviewed against primary sources such as tax authorities or government guidance. The relevant page should state the reference period when the number can become outdated.
Health calculations
Health and fitness calculators are presented as educational population estimates. We describe important limits and avoid presenting a formula output as diagnosis or treatment. When a formula has a named published method, the supporting explanation should identify it.
Developer, SEO and accessibility guidance
For technical standards we prefer first-party documentation and standards bodies, such as platform documentation, W3C/WAI guidance or official search-engine documentation. Tool output should be treated as a check or starting point, not a substitute for testing the live implementation.
Originality and automation
Some site data is structured so thousands of tools can share navigation, schema and consistent interface components. Shared components are not a reason to repeat generic prose. Important pages should contain tool-specific definitions, examples, assumptions, limitations and source context. We consolidate synonymous search terms on one canonical page rather than creating thin pages for every keyword variation.
Corrections
If you believe a formula, threshold, explanation or link is wrong, send the tool or article URL, the value you entered, the result you expected and a source when possible through the contact page. Material errors are corrected at the engine or source-data level so the fix applies everywhere it should.
Advertising independence
Advertising does not determine calculator outputs, rankings inside the tools directory, or the conclusions of an editorial guide. Ads, when present, are visually separate from tool controls and informational content.
